eProductivity experiences – day 2 – #gtd

Today I finished migrating my data into eProductivity. The system is now ready for the heavy duty stuff. Interesting enough a first productivity observation is already there: so far I managed my inbox to empty every 24 – 48 hours, now with eProductivity installed my inbox is virtually empty continuously. As Today was a day in the office I don’t expect the days I will be on the road to have it empty continuously, but I would not be surprised to easily make an empty inbox every 4 to 8 hours.

It is such a natural habit with eProductivity to immediately think what to do with an email. What’s the next action, can I handle it within 2 minutes I will do it, can’t be done in 2 minutes: with a couple of clicks it is an action within the proper context connected to the right project. And Eric even embedded a two minute timer in eProductivity!

2-minutes

Tomorrow will be a different day, more on the road and more meetings, so we’ll see how eProductivity behaves. Or better said, we’ll see how I can manage my day effectively with help of eProductivity. At least I have for one of the meetings a clear @agendas list for the person I am going to meet.

Peter, I am rreally enjoying learning from your experience.

FYI: that two minute timer can actually be set to start automatically. I’ll add it to my blog topic list to write that up.

Peter, we’re definitely having similar experiences! In the past, I was pretty good about clearing my inbox, but not with the frequency I’ve been experiencing with eProductivity. As I mentioned in a Tweet the other day, the lack of friction in the system is very compelling. Since there is not much resistance to processing, I’m getting more things into my lists than ever before.

This is going to be a fun journey…

Peter, thanks for your posts. I’m delighted to share in the great feedback that Eric’s getting, and that lots of years of work and testing are now starting to make a mark “out there” for him and the GTD/Notes interface. – David
