Getting Started with Lotus Notes

Earlier this week I ran into a (Dutch) blog post by Patrick Mackaaij where Patrick describes his desire to test eProductivity for Lotus Notes. Well, better said Patrick describes his challenges getting to a Lotus Notes trial download and addresses IBM marketing as the cause.

Being used to the IBM download site and it’s particularities I have had no problems myself with it, but did recognize Patrick’s issues as potential stumbling blocks for the wider audience to adept Lotus Notes.

Just now I ran into a post by Ed Brill stating that starting “Today, IBM is announcing a promotional 25% discount off new Notes and iNotes licenses“. A good way to lower the barriers for Lotus Notes adoption. Now the other barrier for ease of download will need to be lowered. As Ed’s title for the post starts with “Tuesday news part 1″ I will be looking forward to part 2, would it be an ease of getting to this great product?!
