Fellow Ecademy member Hans Terhurne recently published his new book together with co-author Max van Leeuwen. Innovation By Creativity at first sets a common understanding of what creativity is and why it is important. It discusses the essence of communication and how sessions can be facilitated and then dives into a framework that can be used to divide the creative process into ten stages.
With these ten stages it becomes really interesting. Hans and Max map out fifty-one tools that can be used in the creative process to solve problems and clearly indicate what tool can be used in what stage of the creativity process. The tools include amongst others tools like Mindmapping, SWOT analysis and flow-chart. Each tool is described in a comprehensive and practical way in a couple of pages with a clear explanation how to use it and including some exercises and mind teasers.
With this setup Hans and Max have created a book that the reader will pick up every now and then to find some new tools to keep workshops refreshing. Highly recommendable!
